Fall 2018 Vacation is almost here!

It's almost time for a new adventure and our excitement is building! We will be leaving soon to head for Hiawassee, Georgia for our third trip there!  Guess you figured out, we like it there.  The leaves change color the end of  October, so it's a very busy time in that area of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We're looking forward to 2 wonderful weeks in cooler temperatures enjoying the scenery with family and friends who we will meet up with during our visit there.

Below are a few photo's from our previous trips there:

Clay enjoyed playing music with one of the vendors at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Fall Festival.   That's a homemade guitar Clay is playing.

Clay and Lucy enjoying our campsite by the little stream that runs through the campgrounds.

Clay and Lucy enjoyed a walk along the Chattahoochee River while I was inside shopping at the Nora Mills Granary in Helen, Georgia.  The Nora Mills Granary is a gristmill that dates back to 1876 and still uses 1500 pound French Burr Mill Stones and a wooden raceway that feeds water from the Chattahoochee River to a water turbine used to grind and produce corn and wheat based products. Their store, located in the granary, sells a variety of goods including grits, cornmeal, pancake & waffle mixes, flours, biscuit & bread mixes and preserves.

There are so many beautiful streams and waterfalls to enjoy.  The scenery is amazing!

This was a local fruit stand in Hiawassee with some of the most amazing fruit, preserves and local syrup.  There are three ferocious guard dog chihuahuas that protect their territory very well against any other dog intruders, so Lucy waited in the truck for us.

The lookouts were so beautiful!
