Fall 2018 Trip - Hiawassee, GA

Wednesday, October 17, 2018 - we spent our day visiting with my cousins, Bill & Debbie.  We had lunch at Steve's Restaurant, then rode to check out the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds RV park.  This RV park is located on the grounds of the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on Lake Chatuge.  It's a well maintained park with breathtaking views of the Lake.  We headed back to our campground and enjoyed the remainder of the evening relaxing by the little creek.

Thursday, October 18, 2018 - we headed towards Helen, GA to do some shopping.  We took a different route up there and did some exploring at the Moccasin Creek State Park which is the smallest state park in Georgia.  It's a beautiful park located on Lake Burton with 52 RV spots.

There is a fish hatchery that runs next to the park.

As we headed back on the road towards Helen, we stopped at Hickory Flat Pottery near Clarksville, GA  We had a wonderful time viewing the studio and visiting with the artist, Cody Trautner, who was throwing pottery as he visited with us.

We had lunch in Helen at the Old Bavaria Inn.  They allowed Lucy in the restaurant, so that is where we had lunch.  The food was not so great but we had a good time anyway.
