Fall 2018 Trip - On the Road #2

Monday, October 15, 2018 - We loved being able to wake up to this beautiful view Monday morning in Waynesboro, MS.  Our plan for the day was to take our time, pack up and head up I-59 NE towards Hiawassee, GA and just drive until we felt like stopping.

We stopped for the night at DeSoto State Park in Ft. Payne, AL  DeSoto State Park is a very nice 3500 acre park with cabins and 94 RV spots.  We arrived later than expected and were only there for the night so sad to say we didn't get to see very much and I didn't take any pictures.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 - We woke up, packed up and were back on the road that morning headed East through Chattanooga towards Hiawassee, Georgia.  We skirted the front coming through the area with a slight drizzle of rain in spots.

As we traveled down scenic Highway 64, which runs along the river, we pulled into one of their parking areas and had had lunch along the Ocoee River.  We love to pull along the side of the road, if possible, slide out our slides and have lunch.

As we approached Hiawassee, it was raining slightly and the clouds hung low on the tops of the mountains...beautiful!  We arrived at Bald Mountain RV Resort, setup and enjoyed the remainder of the evening.
